Welcome to Not4Hire.Net. This domain represents my (Lee Oattes) personal presence on the Internet.
The domain name not4hire is based on the story that Mark Twain once told of wanting to earn enough money so that he would no longer need to work. Not that he would not work, he just did not want to *need* to work. He would buy a riverboat and pilot the boat up and down the Mississippi river. He would call the riverboat the "Not For Hire" to let everyone who travelled on her know that he was doing this out of enjoyment and not because it was (just) a job.
If only we could all find work like that....
