After our respite (several fine meals, a nice bed, restock beer/wine/liquor, clothes washing, and hospitality), we headed north to the Rocky Mountain National Park. The photos below show differing views as we climb up the eastern side of the Rocky Mountains.

This photo shows the lower part of the valley at the bottom of the pass. The road is on the north-east side of the valley here.This shot is of the upper part of the same valley. The road has crossed the valley floor and we are climbing up the opposite (western) side.This panoramic view provides a view of both parts of the valley as viewed from much higher up! You can see the rocky river bed of the previous photo about centre and the lower valley off to the right. You can see the road crossing the valley floor and make long switch backs up the western side of the valley.This photo shows an alpine valley nestled between the crest ridges of the Rocky Mountains. There are pockets of snow and we are at about 13,000 feet elevation.
