From Gallup, we headed to Soccoro to visit with some friends who are stationed at NRAO and the VLA. As it happened we just arrived at exactly the right moment to visit the Trinity test site which was open to the public on that one day. For those of you not history conscious, this is where they tested the first nuclear bomb. The site is not particularly notable (aside for where some history happened) save for some of the radioactive glass created during the explosion and a monument to mark the spot.
After the visit to the Trinity Site, we headed to Carlsbad Caverns by way of Roswell and we didn’t see a single flying saucer.
