On our third day at Cloudland, we decided to make a long(ish) trip south to Marietta (just north of Atlanta) to visit Kennesaw Mountain and the Civil War battlefield. This park is a set of fragments preserved long after the Civil War after much of the mountain had become the site for homes of the wealthy. To visit the pieces you have to follow a guide (of sorts) that takes you through a lot of city neighbourhoods and some of the locations are very small and hard to find. You can also take a trolley bus up to the top of the mountain. We did not have enough time to wait for a trolley bus, but we did navigate to a number of park segments.
