Leaving Craters of the Moon we headed west and north to Yellowstone National Park. As mentioned above, Yellowstone is a result of the volcanic activity from the travelling hot-spot in the Earth’s interior. Indeed, Yellowstone encompasses a huge caldera in which many of the famous volcanic features are found.

Several of the prominent features of Yellowstone National Park are easily reached on the extensive road system throughout the park. Sadly, there are often a large number of fools driving on these roads so one must be very careful!
