After zipping through the Escalante National Staircase, we kept going past Bryce on UT12 and took UT89 south to a campground that used to be a KOA near Glendale UT. From here we could take day trips to Bryce, Cedar Breaks and Zion. I’ve stayed in this park before (when it was a KOA), and somewhat surprisingly, it had changed little. One the features that I had remembered was a small Bryce-like set of hoodoos in the western valley wall near the campground.

The next morning we headed back north along UT89 to Panguitch. Grabbed a little breakfast and did some grocery shopping, then headed into Bryce. We did not spend any time sampling trails but we did travel along the scenic road and took many pictures of the valley from the various overlooks.
