Leaving Monticello, we planned to visit Natural Bridges, proceed over the Colorado River at the top of the Glen Canyon area and stop at Capitol Reef. As it turned out we did this and then also headed off to Bryce Canyon — all in the same day. This was too much travelling for one day, but we did see a heck of a lot of fabulous scenery.

Looking down into the valley of the natural bridges. You can see one of the natural bridges if you look carefully. The bridges are caused when the creek's S curves (over time as they develop) actually intersect and carve out a bridge. The creek then takes a new path under the newly formed bridge.
